Come celebrate with us the mother of all Fiestas “Mexican Independence Day Celebration”, come celebrate El Grito de Dolores at the plaza. Each year, La Alameda hosts a reenactment of El Grito, where crowds shout “Viva Mexico” (“long live Mexico”) as they do in Mexico. The event kicks off Mexican Independence Day celebrations throughout the greater L.A. County as well as Mexico.
This year’s event will feature folk dancing, mariachi, art and entertainment by local performers in the tradition of Mexico. Come and enjoy two days of celebration in a family oriented environment that will bring cultural information and will end by having our General Consul from Mexico giving El Grito at the end of the event.
